Making functional pottery for daily use and enjoyment gives me the greatest satisfaction. Be they plates, platters, vases, bowls, jars, mugs, casseroles, vases, pitchers or teapots, I try to ensure that my pieces fulfill their function efficiently and comfortably, while exhibiting a distinctive and aesthetically pleasing look. I alternate between stoneware and porcelain and use food-safe glazes. I fire my pieces to cone 10 (around 2300 degrees Fahrenheit) in the reducing atmosphere of the gas kiln.
As a juried member of the Ceramic Guild and the Kiln Club of Washington, DC, I have been exhibiting my work until recently at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA, as well as holding year-end pottery shows that double as fundraisers at my home on Capitol Hill in DC.
Here you will find upcoming flyers, invitations, and poems from loved ones.
